The Middle is Candlelighters teen support program that offers both a leadership opportunity and a chance to come together with other teens who have been through a cancer diagnosis as well. Our support program is led by our Teen Advisory Board and professionals from the oncology community to make sure we are offering programs tailored to specific teen needs.
Not only do we want to provide memorable activities, but we aim to offer these teens a chance to network and be around other teens who have walked the same path. We offer several activities throughout the year that are open to teens only, and have also started making an impact in the hospital by creating and providing Teen Totes, that will make their hospital stay a little bit easier.
Our teen program is open to any teen that has been diagnosed with cancer and is aged 13-19.
Teen Advisory Council Meeting
Date, Time and Location TBD
Are you a teen living in the Pdx region? Do you want to be involved with community service while forming social connections with other Candlelighters teens? If so, the Teen Advisory Council is just the place for you! The teen group meets monthly with fun social outings every other month! In addition to fun outings, we will also be planning service projects to give back to our community while learning important leadership skills along the way. Your active participation in this group will benefit you in several ways: 1. You will get to meet other teens who have been through a cancer diagnosis or their teen siblings, 2. You will get to learn leadership skills and how to plan and implement service projects which looks great on your college application!
This groups is open to any Candelighters teen (including teen siblings) aged 13-19 years old.
