Cancer Warrior Breakfast 2019 Is In The Books!
Candlelighters For Children With Cancer’s annual Cancer Warrior Breakfast held on April 17 at the Multnomah Athletic Club focused on Candlelighters impact that has touched more than 87,000 family members since starting in 1977. A HUGE thank you to our community for helping raise almost $70,000!!
Guests heard from the Duncan, Soria/Zuniga, Morrison, and Florig Families who spoke about their own family’s personal journey and how Candlelighters whole family support offered them light during a very dark time. Whether Candlelighters supported the families at the hospital, helped pay a bill, lessened isolation by joining our Teen Program, or provided a scholarship to attend college, they’ll never forgot the impact Candlelighters has on their life.
“There is no way to adequately convey the support and sense of belonging we felt when we attended that first Candlelighters For Children With Cancer event. Not only did Erin finally feel she fit in, but Erin’s little sister found other siblings who could relate to what she was feeling, and my husband and I met other parents who could truly understand and empathize with what we were going through. For the first time, it felt like we could check the worry and stress at the door, and just enjoy being together as a family.” – Kris Morrison, Erin’s Mom
