Don’t miss out on this end-of-summer, action-packed fun for the entire family! Highlights of this camp include an Olympicsize swimming pool with big slide and diving boards, horseback riding, bumper boats, go-karts, rock climbing, mini-golf, game room, arts and crafts, volleyball, campfire, fun activities for all ages, and delicious food—all of this at no cost to our Candlelighters families!

All Candlelighters families are eligible to register for this camp. Because of the popularity of this camp, we may receive more applications than there are spots available. In this case, newer families and those who’ve attended fewer times will be given priority, and others will be placed on a waiting list. After you submit your registration, we’ll contact you by July 25th to notify you of availability to your family.

Accommodations include:
• Shared Cabins (two families per cabin sharing one private bathroom; electricity)
• Covered Wagons (one family per wagon; bath houses nearby; electricity)
• Tent Sites (bring your own tent; bath houses nearby)

Saturday, June 26th, 2010 • 11:00 a.m.

Candlelighters & their immediate family members will be treated to the following:

• Free five hour Deluxe Ride Bracelet (12:00 Noon to 5:00 p.m.)
• Free Lunch from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
Location: Picnic Area #11 (in the center of the park just south of the Dance Pavilion)

We will have your tickets available at check in at Picnic Area #11 on the day of the event.  We invite you to bring along friends and neighbors, and by doing so they’ll be supporting Candlelighters! For just $10.00 they will also receive lunch and ride bracelet, and 100% of the proceeds of these additional tickets sold will benefit Candlelighters and our important family programs.  Additional guests can purchase their tickets through Denise at CandlelightersActivities@gmail.com.

Camp Millennium • Camp for Kids • June 20th–27th
Camp Millennium, a member of Children’s Oncology Camping Association, is an exciting week-long camp in Roseburg, OR, for children affected by cancer and their siblings ages 5–16. It offers swimming, horseback riding, archery, arts & crafts, music, hiking, boating, and many other surprises. Individuals, including a full time medical staff, support staff and camp counselors are on-site 24/7, ready to meet the needs of campers. Camp Ukandu • Camp for Kids • June 20th–26th
The American Cancer Society’s Camp Ukandu will be held at the YMCA Camp Collins in Gresham, OR. Camp Ukandu is a medically supervised, weeklong camp for children with cancer and their siblings, ages 8 to17. Thanks to the generous donations from individuals, organizations and foundations, Camp Ukandu is free for all children who attend. Activities include swimming, climbing tower, archery, arts and crafts, outdoor games, campfires, dances, and much more. Camp Agape • Camp for Families • July 31st–August 5th
This is a wonderful camp for the entire family! Nestled in the beautiful woods at Camp Angelos on the Sandy River, this camp is an amazing getaway. Enjoy hiking, fishing, arts and crafts, games, archery, campfire and special theme days. All campers have access to excellent health care professionals, 24 hrs/day, on-site. Soaring Spirits Camp – Camp for Families • August 13th–15th
Suttle Lake Camp and Retreat Center. This is a great camp for cancer survivors and their families. More information to come in our June/July Newsletter.

Each of these wonderful camps offers a unique experience and allows children and parents an opportunity to build special memories. Campers can meet others who’ve walked similar journeys, play and laugh together, and simply forget about the stress of cancer for a while. Each organization hosting these camps works hard to make your camping experience incredible and unforgettable! All camps are for those affected by childhood cancer and their immediate family, and are free of charge.
